1. Have you ever walked out of a movie?

No, but there are a few that I probably should have walked out of.

2. What do you most often use for blogs and blogging: desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone?

Laptop, desktop and phone. Prior to acquiring my beloved Birdie, I exclusively used a desktop for work and blog-writing. Now that I have a laptop, I would say that I split pretty evenly between the two — it really depends where I feel like working on a given day.

My phone is a great way to catch up on blog-reading, but if I want to comment, I prefer to use something with an actual keyboard.

3. Have you ever had anything stolen from you?

Yes. Our house was burglarized a few months ago and they took all of my jewelry and some other fancy stuff. You can read all about what I learned from that in this 7 Quick Takes.

Other than that, we’ve been remarkably theft-free around here.

4. Do you identify as a member of a particular ethnic group?

So I’m Irish, French and Hungarian. Bret is Hungarian, German and Polish. If I had to choose the ethnic group(s) with which I most identify, I would choose French and Irish. My husband would probably choose Polish.

Interestingly, our children will be more Hungarian than either of us and more Hungarian than Hungarian than any other ethnic group. I guess we need to do a little more research about our other halves.

5. Do you abstain from meat on Fridays?

Not currently, but I’d like to start. Summer is a pretty difficult time for us in terms of controlling our diet/meal plan. We do so much traveling and it seems rude to make requests about the meal plan. (I mean, let’s get real here — I’m all about the free food. If someone else is going to make it for me, the correct response is “Thank you so much! This is delicious!”)

I did not make this fishy meme.

However, I’ve been mulling over the issue a lot lately. I’m enamored with the idea of getting back to Catholic roots and traditions and I like the environmental/health benefits of abstaining once a week. Hrm — looks like it’s time to have a fancy-pants religious conversation with my husband.

6. Seen anything weird lately?

Not really. I mean, there’s a dog Up North that looks like a bear with really stumpy legs. That’s kind of odd, no?

Sort of like this, but black.

Author’s Note: You may have noticed that there was no Weekend in 5 iPhone Pictures this weekend. That’s because I was having too much fun hanging out with my new family. I’ll make it up to you, I promise. Here’s a few pictures from the weekend to tide you over:
