My church has a young adults group for people in their 20s and 30s, single or married. I promise, it’s not as lame as it sounds. We meet once a month for mass and food and if we aren’t in a pub, we usually knock around the church basement.

(Side note: the church basement is not nearly as creepy as you think it is.)

If we’re kicking it in the rectory, we usually have some sort of activity. We play trivia or have a euchre tournament or whatever. Before any of that can get started, however, we are ordered to participate in some sort of ice breaker. (Which is funny, because it’s the same batch of people every time.)

One of their favorite ice breakers is “2 Truths and A Lie.” Essentially, each person gives three statements about themselves, two of which are true and one of which is false. Then, others have to guess which one is a lie.

Here are mine:

1.) I have been on fire on three separate occasions.
2.) I was stabbed by a sea urchin.
3.) Skiing is my favorite winter pastime.

What are yours?
